Job Description
Purpose of Position: Provide scientifically accurate and balanced responses to medical inquiries from global internal and external customers about Vertex products, investigational therapies and disease statesSpecific Responsibilities:
Managing daily activities of Medical Information Specialists Training, mentoring and managing of all Medical Information personnel (3) Responding to internal and external requests for information regarding Vertex marketed products Coordinating the department’s review, updating, and initiation of new medical information response letters for the Medical Information Call Center Maintaining content within medical information knowledge database Evaluating medical inquiry trends to reactively develop FAQs and standard responses Interfacing with cross-functional teams to proactively gather insights to develop FAQs and standard responses Maintaining of departmental procedural guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Developing medical education content (slides, other) for use in a variety of internal or external programs Providing medical presentations to external and internal customers, including but not limited to: sales training, sales/marketing meetings Managing Medical Information Booths at Scientific and Medical Congresses Evaluating and managing vendors involved in medical/drug information, medical education Developing and maintaining working relationships with Key opinion Leaders (KOLs) in select therapeutic areas Maintaining knowledge base and continuous learning by journal review, attendance at appropriate seminars and conferences, and association membership Relationships: Internal: Global Drug Safety, Medical Affairs, Clinical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, business franchise (brand marketing, sales) External: Vendors, partners, KOLs, HCPs and lay public |

Minimum Requirements for Position:Education: PharmD, 2-3 years clinical experience required.
Experience: 5-8 years previous experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry commercial medical affairs required. Therapeutic expertise across several specialties a plus. Successful experience managing personnel desired. Preferred Requirements: Skills: Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, Working Conditions: Some travel required |
